2,500 First-Graders Get Free Organic Lunch Boxes in Landshut
Over 2,500 first-graders in the city and district of Landshut have benefited from a generous initiative this year. Each child received a free organic lunch box, accompanied by a storybook, as part of an eco-friendly campaign.
The 'Organic-Lunchbox' action, a collaboration between the Eco-Model Region Landshut and BUND Nature Conservation Local Group Landshut, was made possible by numerous donors and an eco-small-project grant from the Bavarian State Ministry. Deputy Mayor Dr. Thomas Haslinger assisted in distributing the lunch boxes to the eager young recipients.
The lunch boxes were filled with organic foods sourced exclusively from the Landshut region. Alongside their tasty meals, students also received information about balanced nutrition and the benefits of locally produced organic products. The initiative aims to foster healthy eating awareness among the youngest children and motivate parents to provide sustainable snacks daily.
The 'Organic-Lunchbox' action has successfully provided around 2,500 first-graders with a healthy and eco-friendly start to their school day. With the goal of continuing annually, the initiative seeks to cultivate children's appetite for healthy food and encourage sustainable eating habits.
