2,500 Landshut First-Graders Get Free Organic Lunch Boxes

In a bid to promote healthy eating and regional organic products, around 2,500 first-graders in Landshut received a free organic box lunch. The initiative, named 'box lunch action', was supported by various sponsors and volunteers, aiming to provide a nutritious start to the school day.

The action was organised by Veronika Stanglmayr, Oeko-Modellregionsmanagerin, and the Landshut district group of Bund Naturschutz. It included teaching materials developed by teacher Kirstin Weber, focusing on healthy eating and sustainable food. Deputy District Administrator Sebastian Hutzenthaler and Mayor Werner Klanikow handed over the reusable lunch boxes, which contained fresh organic bread, fresh cheese, a carrot, and apple chips, all sourced locally.

Numerous volunteers pitched in to pack the 2,500 box lunches, demonstrating the community's commitment to promoting regional organic quality.

The 'box lunch action' in Landshut successfully introduced first-graders to healthy, locally sourced food. With the support of sponsors and volunteers, the initiative not only provided a nutritious start to the school day but also inspired children to embrace healthy eating habits and appreciate regional organic products.
