New Outdoor Swimming Pool Coming to Alhaurín el Grande's Sports Complex
Great news for residents and visitors of Alhaurín el Grande! The municipality has announced plans to construct a new outdoor swimming pool at the municipal sports complex on Cártama Road.
The project, which is set to begin construction in September, has been awarded to Sardalla Española S.A. for over half a million euros. The pool's design was created by architect Justo Ruiz García.
The new pool will have a water surface of 281 m² and a perimeter of 82.7 m². It will operate with saline chlorination and will be lined with non-slip gresite tiles and surrounded by a white artificial stone edge. The pool's depth will range from 0 to 1.6 metres and will hold 360 m³ of water.
For added convenience, the pool will feature an irregular shape with two built-in staircases, two metal ladders, and a beach-style access. The pool will also have a lifeguard, as required by law, and the expanded changing rooms will ensure full accessibility for everyone. A mandatory first-aid kit will be available in the changed rooms.
The water purification system will use sand filters and impulsion nozzles for a four-hour purification cycle. The pool will be able to renew 10% of its water daily if needed.
The facility will include a 111 m² underground filtration room. The pool will have a total volume of 360 m³ of water. The existing changing rooms at the sports complex will be almost doubled in size.
The new outdoor swimming pool will be built on a 27,000 m² plot in the northern part of the sports complex. The sports complex already includes an indoor pool, a children's water park, an indoor sports hall, outdoor courts for tennis, and 5-a-side football.
Construction is expected to be completed within five months, making this an exciting addition to the sports complex just in time for the summer season.
