Chandler McLellan Collaborates with Troy Lighting to Create an Artistic and Functional Lighting Collection

Chandler McLellan, a renowned sculptor, has teamed up with Troy Lighting to create a stunning collection of lamps, pendants, and sconces. The collection, aptly named "Sculpting Light", blends sculptural, organic forms with functional lighting to produce pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and impactful in a space.

The collection is inspired by the idea of "sculpture meets function", aiming to cast light and artistry throughout a room. It features fluid curves, bold shapes, and understated yet powerful design elements. One of the standout pieces is the Irvine pendant light, a modern riff on traditional Vietnamese lanterns, priced at $1,051 and featuring two tiers of intricately woven rattan.

Another noteworthy piece is the minimalist table lamp, priced at $684. Its design is inspired by ancient stone relics, showcasing a balance between form and omissions. The light is softly diffused, creating a warm and inviting ambiance.

The Cullen floor lamp, priced at $1,250, plays with dynamic tension, adding a unique touch to any space. The collection also includes a distinctive sconce, priced at $474, and a lineup of portable LED table lamps.

McLellan's lighting ideas focus on the way nature shapes environments over time, and he believes that at its best, artificial light should mimic natural light. He also emphasizes that artificial light can be intentionally directed and manipulated for shadow play.

Before becoming a sculptor, McLellan studied archaeology, which has undoubtedly influenced his unique approach to design. His collaboration with Troy Lighting is a testament to his vision of lighting as the most dynamic functional aspect of design, functioning as aesthetic objects more than light sources.

The "Sculpting Light" collection is priced between $300 and $1,190, making it accessible to a wide range of consumers who appreciate both art and functionality in their home decor. The collection is now available at Troy Lighting's showrooms and online store.
