Bamberg District Launches €9,000 Art Scholarship for Local Creatives
The District of Bamberg has announced the 'Art Scholarship Region Bamberg 2026', open to local artists until December 1, 2025. This scholarship enables recipients to focus on their creative work with financial support.
The scholarship, worth €1,500 per month for six months, starts in March 2026 and ends by December 2026. Applications are submitted to the Bamberg District Office, Department of Culture and Sport. The application form is available on the district's website.
A five-member jury, including the district administrator, cultural officer, current scholarship holder, and two arts experts, will decide on the winner in January or February 2026. The scholarship allows artists to dedicate several months exclusively to their art, with a public presentation of results planned in cooperation with the district or city.
The 'Art Scholarship Region Bamberg 2026' is open to professional artists residing in Bamberg or the district, from fields such as literature, music, visual arts, or performing arts. Applications close on December 1, 2025, with the winner announced in early 2026.
