In the heart of Paris' vibrant Le Marais neighbourhood, the Camperlab store has undergone a remarkable transformation, thanks to the creative vision of Harry Nuriev and his design philosophy, Transformism.

Transformism, a unique approach to design, involves rethinking and reshaping the past and everyday materials to create a contemporary cultural expression. This philosophy is demonstrated in Nuriev's projects by reinterpreting familiar materials and surfaces as sculptural and symbolic forms, infusing spaces with an emotional and cultural resonance, and designing spaces that feel both private and communal.

For the Camperlab store, Nuriev has applied Transformism by using everyday materials from retail and shoe design contexts, transforming them into expressive spatial elements. The defining design feature of the store is the use of crushed concrete, torn away to reveal sleek, industrial shelves of shoes or rails of clothing. The high-shine metal pillars and the vast recessed ceiling light add to the store's dynamic and poetic reinterpretation of retail environments.

The central silver banquette and the digital screens further embody transformation and movement in the store's design. Nuriev wants visitors to rethink their surroundings and the boundaries between object and observer at the Camperlab store.

The artist, architect, and interior designer's latest project aligns with his broader work in fashion retail and cultural locations worldwide, including collaborations with brands like Balenciaga and Baccarat. In 2023, Nuriev hosted an exhibition titled 'Denim' at the Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Paris, featuring items for the home, such as a vanity table, bed, weights bench, and sofa, all crafted from blue denim. The denim items were intentionally torn or frayed, resembling a long-worn pair of jeans.

The Camperlab store, located at 15 Rue Debelleyme, 75003 Paris, France, is a testament to Nuriev's ability to create a sense of transformation and curiosity. Visitors are invited to inhabit and feel the space uniquely, crafting gestures and material choices that resonate with their personal experiences.

This approach is not surprising, given that Harry Nuriev's creative practice is named Crosby Studios. His design philosophy transforms everyday objects into surreal and imaginative forms, challenging conventional perceptions and inviting introspection.

In the world of fashion retail and design, Harry Nuriev continues to push boundaries, creating innovative and emotionally engaging environments that resonate with a global audience. The Camperlab store in Paris' Le Marais is just one example of his transformative impact.
