Bottroper Kids on Stage: A Summer Holiday Camp Triumph
The summer holiday camp "Bottroper Kids on Stage" concluded with a resounding success at Josef-Albers-Gymnasium, leaving the children with applause, recognition, and beaming smiles on stage.
Piet Metzen, the Master of Ceremonies, summed up the event, praising the children for their accomplishments. The success of the project was also due to the excellent cooperation of all involved, including the city of Bottrop, cultural institutions and theaters, local schools, sponsors from the local business community, volunteers, and staff from community groups.
The Tanzschule Frank designed the dance workshop with great commitment, while the theater group developed their piece under professional guidance from Jörg Wilms from the municipal cultural workshop. The closing event featured dynamic hip-hop choreographies, imaginative theater pieces, self-written poetry slams, and surprises, all contributing to a lively atmosphere. Waffles and popcorn were contributed by the Förderverein Ferienzirkus Bottrop e.V.
The Förderverein Ferienzirkus Bottrop e.V. also raised around 6,000 euros for creative offerings like the water play area, wood and music workshops. The holiday camp is popular among both children and adults, with Nina Klaus, head of the Spielmobil at the Bottrop youth office, expressing satisfaction with a fantastic atmosphere and great workshops.
Anja Kohmann, vice-chairperson of the youth welfare committee, welcomed guests and expressed enthusiasm for the children's joy and dedication. Daniela Bockholt, head of the youth office, thanked all employees of the city administration and helping hands for their contributions to the project's success.
Social Affairs Commissioner Karen Alexius-Eifert praised the holiday camp as a successful example of committed collaboration. A total of 240 children participated in the program over three weeks, aiming to provide them with a creative holiday offer and an opportunity to exceed themselves. The parents, acquaintances, and friends agreed that it was amazing what the children had experienced and accomplished in the five days of the camp.
In conclusion, the success of the "Bottroper Kids on Stage" project was largely due to the contributions of various partners and supporters, creating a well-rounded and engaging program for the children participating in the camp.
In the heart of Bottrop, the success of the summer holiday camp "Bottroper Kids on Stage" extended beyond the realm of theater, with partners from the local home-and-garden scene contributing to creative workshops like the water play area and wood workshops. Moreover, as the children bustled with proud smiles and danced through dynamic hip-hop choreographies, they exhibited a lifestyle of creativity, collaboration, and self-expression.
