The city of Solingen has announced changes to its waste collection schedule due to the postponement of the Christmas tree collection. In the meantime, it is important to note that the collection of Christmas trees remains scheduled for Friday, January 10. The trees collected will be composted in the composting facility of Entsorgung Solingen. To facilitate the collection process for employees, collection points have been designated throughout the city.
When bringing your Christmas tree for collection, please ensure that it meets the following criteria:
- The length of the tree must not exceed two meters.
- The trunk diameter of the tree must not exceed 15 centimeters.
- The tree must be completely decorated, without nets, bags, or toppers.
- The tree must be placed visibly in front of the property by 7:00 AM.
It is also worth noting that the collection of yellow, blue, and bio-containers has also been postponed. Each collection of these containers will be one day later than scheduled until the Friday collection is made up on Saturday, January 18. The collection process should not hinder or endanger traffic.
