City encourages citizen discussions on recreational spaces

In the city of Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, an event series is scheduled from August to November 2025, aiming to record the current state of playground and leisure sports facilities on-site with citizens and discuss possible improvements. The collaboration involves the youth office, sports administration, StadtGruen, social urban development, the playmobile of the multigenerational house, and engaged neighbors.

The event series kicks off on August 30, 2025, in Hebborn, and will take place in all six administrative districts of the city. Each event will take place from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM and will provide fun and entertainment for children with a varied program, as well as refreshments.

The events are open forums for suggestions, criticism, and ideas. The first event has already taken place in Hebborn on August 30, 2025. The event in Schildgen is scheduled for September 14, 2025, at Dorfplatz. The event in Refrath is scheduled for November 16, 2025, at Wallburg. The event in Kaule is scheduled for November 2, 2025, at Spielplatz "Reiser/ Im Monsröttchen". The event in Herkenrath is scheduled for October 26, 2025, at Bolzplatz and Kierdorfer Feld. The event in Herrenstrunden is scheduled for October 12, 2025, at Bücheler Weg.

The goal of these events is to foster a constructive exchange with all interested parties, with the focus on "smart improvements" - targeted, often small measures that can have a significant impact with manageable effort. Participants can contact Nadine Quabach at 02202 142808 or [email protected] to participate.

It is worth noting that, at the time of writing, there is no publicly documented "smart improvement plan" or event series for playground and leisure sports facilities in Bergisch Gladbach during the indicated period in the available search results. However, the city administration is looking forward to a productive collaboration with the citizens to improve these facilities without major construction projects.
