Event Date
Customized stained-glass creating studio session
This is a one-day stained glass workshop tailored for beginners or those returning to the craft after a break. You don't need any artistic background or experience as everything, including patterns, materials, equipment, and friendly, passionate tutors, will be provided. By the end of the day, you'll leave with your personal "day at the beach" glass artwork in hand.
The workshop covers the basics of glasswork where you'll learn to cut and grind glass, copper foil the edges, and solder pieces together using traditional techniques. You'll also learn to enhance your glass artwork using applique. There will be two experienced tutors available to guide and help you throughout the day.
About the Artist
Marilyn, a local stained-glass artist based in Oulton Broad, will be hosting the workshop. She brings 15 years of experience working with glass and teaching the craft to others. With a 22-year background in plant science, Marilyn's love for nature often seeps into her glasswork where she creates intricate glass scenes showcasing flowers, fungi, and small creatures.
