Debuting Mooncake Selection at Hotel Indigo Saigon The City
In the bustling heart of Ho Chi Minh City, Hotel Indigo Saigon The City has unveiled a distinctive mooncake collection, Cà-Moon, as a tribute to the city's vibrant culture and the traditional Vietnamese lunchbox concept called ca-men.
The exterior of the hotel mirrors the city's spirit, with embossed symbols of iconic Saigon landmarks, such as Ben Thanh Market, Ba Son Bridge, and the Central Post Office. Inside, the hotel pays homage to the heart of old Saigon homes with vintage floral tile patterns. This design philosophy is echoed in the Cà-Moon mooncake collection, where each box is designed to resemble a Vietnamese stacked lunchbox (ca-men), with each tier representing layers of emotion and a mix of flavors that reflect Saigon’s essence.
The packaging is adorned with embossed symbols iconic to Saigon, highlighting the city’s lively character. Smaller boxes inside are decorated with vintage floral tile patterns, symbolizing the city’s nostalgic soul tied to the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere.
Each Cà-Moon box contains four handcrafted mooncakes, symbolising stacked layers, echoing the ca-men concept of multiple stacked compartments holding different dishes. The flavours, such as Tom Yum Seafood Mixed Nuts and Braised Chicken with Black Pepper (both with salted egg yolk), alongside Strawberry & Pink Guava and Lotus Seed & Pandan (also with salted egg yolk), reflect a fusion of heritage and innovation.
Amy Nha, general manager of the hotel, shared that Cà-Moon aims to provide a unique slice of Ho Chi Minh City, where memory and modernity intertwine. Each mooncake box weighs approximately 150g and the price for a box of four Cà-Moon mooncakes is $55.
The Cà-Moon mooncakes are more than just a seasonal gift, but an invitation to embrace the journey of discovery and connection at the heart of Hotel Indigo Saigon The City. They offer a metaphorical and sensory journey through layered design, cultural symbols, and diverse mooncake flavours, making them a must-try for those seeking to experience the essence of Saigon during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
