Delighted duo unveil "Autsider-art" initiative

In a remarkable display of creativity and talent, the works of residents from the social care home "Harmony" are currently being showcased at the National Art Museum as part of the "Outsider Art" project. This project, which has a history of exhibiting art created by individuals with mental disabilities, has been a regular feature in state galleries since 2006.

The "Outsider Art" project has gained a significant following, with exhibitions held beyond the National Art Museum on various occasions. These exhibitions are not exclusive to the museum but are also held in the homes themselves, including Harmony, and in other locations.

The current exhibition at the National Art Museum features 12 exceptional artists, but the names of these artists remain undisclosed. However, the project's workshop was visited during its creation, providing a glimpse into the creative process behind these works.

One of the artists involved in the project expressed their exhilaration in creating something of their own, describing it as a calling. For some of the artists, creating art is more than just a hobby; it's a deeply personal and meaningful expression.

The "Outsider Art" project has seen its works displayed in state galleries, including the National Art Museum, and beyond, breaking barriers and challenging perceptions about art and disability. The exhibitions held beyond the museum's walls serve to further promote the project's mission and the extraordinary talents of its artists.

In addition to the current exhibition at the National Art Museum, more exhibitions from the "Outsider Art" project are scheduled to be held, both within and outside the museum, ensuring that the project continues to inspire and captivate audiences.
