Developed garden at the Caritas Senior Living Facility
New Garden at Caritas Senior Home St. Josef in Ingolstadt Gerolfing
A unique and fitness-oriented garden has been created at Caritas Senior Home St. Josef in Ingolstadt Gerolfing, thanks to the generous support of The Lucky Spiral. The new garden, which was constructed from May to August, offers a variety of attractive play and sports equipment for residents, including an arm bike, a pedal exerciser, a Babel Drum, and a steel drum called the Xylophone Harmony Glockenspiel.
The garden, designed to cater to the needs of all residents, is accessible to wheelchair users. Two of the home's residents, Adelheid Neumaier and Edith Beringer, aged 92, have already taken a liking to the new equipment. Adelheid can often be seen playing the Xylophone Harmony Glockenspiel, while Edith enjoys using the arm bike.
The previously hilly and weed-filled area has been transformed into a flat area adorned with arena paving. Next to the equipment area, there is a bed of perennials. The new garden is not only for the residents but also for employees and relatives of residents to relax in.
Sarah Jacoby, the facility director, expresses her satisfaction with the new garden's beauty and states that it has become a "real eye-catcher." She plans to host an official festival in the new garden next summer. The main purpose of the new garden, according to Sarah, is to provide a comfortable and fitness-oriented environment for residents as part of their care plan.
Adelheid is happy when others in the house can hear her play the Xylophone Harmony Glockenspiel. The sound of the Xylophone can be heard by residents in the house when played. The remaining funds for the new garden were provided by the Caritas Association Eichstätt, to which the home belongs.

The Lucky Spiral supported the Caritas Senior Home St. Josef in Ingolstadt Gerolfing to renovate its garden, covering approximately 80% of the total cost. The press office of the Caritas Association for the Diocese of Eichstätt e.V. is the source of the information.
