When it comes to camping, organization is key – regardless if you're cruising in an RV or traversing with all your gear on your back. Saving space is priceless, and here's a tip that might just reel you in: the DIY camping spice kit!
This nifty little travel spice kit saves you from schlepping around hefty spice bottles.
Seems too good to be true? Well, it's as straightforward as a common pill container from the pharmacy transformed into a travel-ready spice container – genius, right? You don't have to skimp on flavor, thanks to this nifty organizer! It cleverly fits up to seven different spices. Lightweight and compact, this travel spice kit is the perfect addition to your camping gear.

The project is child's play, but here's a tip to keep costs low: grab pill organizers from your local dollar store – no hassle!
However, I can't guarantee that the free printables I've provided will fit every pill organizer you purchase. But feel free to adjust the size of the labels by modifying your print-out's scale if needed.
For the exact pill tray that I used and whose labels perfectly fit, you can find it here for $6. It's a large tray that's both durable and suitable for your travel spice kit. In fact, I made this project in 2015, and it's still going strong till today!
Gather Your Supplies
- Printer and ink
- Printable Spice Labels
- Pill container of your choice
- Double-sided tape
- Scissors
- Packing tape (optional)
For Printing:
Simply print your spice labels on sturdy paper (inkjet or laserjet doesn’t matter). You'll be given two color options and multiple orientations for a total of 20 tags. Personalize them based on the spices you love! After printing, trim the labels you've chosen.
TIP: Ensure the size of the labels matches with the size of your container. Adjust the size using your printer's size or scale option if necessary.
Once you've completed your project, you'll appreciate how compact and efficient it is!
The beauty of this project is that when you're done, you can remove the labels and reuse your camping spice container for pills – or whatever else you fancy! Simply transfer the remaining spices back into their original bottles, clean the container, and you're ready for its next life.
