Finisterre extends rental program with adaptive Yulex wetsuits, stating that "the sea does not discriminate, and access to it should not either"
Finisterre Makes Adaptive Surfing More Accessible with Rental Program
British surfwear brand Finisterre is making waves in the world of adaptive surfing, becoming the first company to offer adaptive Yulex wetsuits as part of a rental program. This move aims to ensure ocean inclusivity for everyone, following Finisterre founder Tom Kay's belief that "the sea doesn't discriminate, and neither should access to it."
The rental program expansion includes both men's and women's 3mm and 5mm Back Zip Adapted wetsuits, all available for rent at the same price as standard wetsuits. The rates start from £25 for a 5-day rental of the 3mm Back Zip Adapted wetsuit, £32.50 for the 5mm Back Zip adaptive wetsuit (£6.50 per day).
Finisterre's adaptive Yulex wetsuits come with special features such as wrist and legs zips for easier entry and exit, and modified closures for improved accessibility. These wetsuits were originally made available free of charge via The Finisterre Foundation's free rental service in 2021, but are now open to everyone.
Customers can find more information and rent adaptive Yulex wetsuits on Finisterre's rental site. However, it's important to note that while Finisterre offers adaptive Yulex wetsuits, there is currently no evidence of other adaptive surfing equipment or services provided by the brand.
For those who need financial support or have bespoke requirements, a fully funded rental pathway via The Finisterre Foundation is still available. This initiative continues to support individuals who may face barriers to accessing adaptive surfing equipment.
Finisterre's commitment to adaptive surfing reflects its dedication to making the ocean accessible to all. With the minimum rental period set at five days, it's a step towards making adaptive surfing more accessible and affordable for everyone.
