Fundraising Efforts Amplified: Solid State Logic Joins Forces with Ox Sculpture Display for Sobell House Hospice Support

In the heart of Oxford, a unique public art project is underway, transforming the cityscape with life-sized and mini-ox sculptures. The OxTrail 2024, a fundraiser for Sobell House Hospice, runs until August 29 [1].

One of the project's sponsors, Solid State Logic (SSL), is playing a dual role. Not only are they financially supporting the initiative, but they are also actively involved as a participating studio [1]. The studio's equipment list includes a BiG SiX SuperAnalogue console, SSL 2+ interface, G Series Bus Compressor, 500 Series LMC+, E Series EQ and Compressor modules, SSL plug-ins, and an SSL CONNEX USB mic.

SSL has sponsored a life-sized ox sculpture designed by Oxford-based artist Rawz. Rawz worked on the sculpture at SSL's headquarters for over two weeks [1]. The artist values the portability of the SSL 2+ audio interface for his work, as it allows him to be influenced by his surroundings.

Rawz, who is involved in the day-to-day operations at In-Spire Sounds, a recording studio established five years ago, has a personal connection to Sobell House Hospice due to a family member receiving care [1]. At In-Spire Sounds, King Boyden, a producer and musician, is described as the SSL fanboy amongst the team.

The OxTrail app allows users to track their progress on the trail and unlock rewards and prizes from the sponsors, including SSL [1]. The winner of a contest associated with the ox sculptures will spend a day recording and mixing at In-Spire Sounds, a local SSL-equipped recording studio.

At the end of the trail, some of the smaller oxen will also be auctioned off, along with the life-sized sculptures. The proceeds from the auction will go to Sobell House Hospice, which provides palliative and end-of-life care to Oxfordshire residents [1]. Rawz hopes that his ox will be auctioned and placed in SSL's reception area, where it was created.

In-Spire Sounds offers affordable professional recording, mixing, and mastering services and supports charitable activities [1]. The OxTrail 2024 public art project is a testament to SSL's commitment to fostering the public art initiative by helping showcase artistic works and sharing stories through the project.

SSL is using its equipment and facilities, such as the BiG SiX SuperAnalogue console and the portable SSL 2+ audio interface, to support the artistic work of Rawz, a local artist participating in the OxTrail 2024 public art project in Oxford. The proceeds from the auction of the ox sculptures, including Rawz's sculpture, will be donated to Sobell House Hospice, a cause that Rawz personally supports through his connections at In-Spire Sounds, a recording studio equipped with SSL products. Home-and-garden events may include the public exhibition of the OxTrail sculptures placed around the city, while lifestyle features can be found in the story of Rawz's personal involvement in the project and his work at In-Spire Sounds. The OxTrail app offers events and rewards related to the project, including a contest for a day of recording and mixing at In-Spire Sounds.
