Family Festival at Hangar 21: A Day of Fun and Interaction
On Sunday, September 7, from 1 to 6 pm, Hangar 21 in Detmold will play host to a family festival filled with interactive activities, games, and cultural experiences. The event, organized by the city portal, brings together various Detmold associations and organizations, including the Evangelical Free Church Hohenloh, Detmold Citizens' Foundation, Chess Magic, Detmold Animal Shelter, and many more.
The festival promises a diverse program, with exhibitors and institutions presenting their activities and offers. Young and old can look forward to culinary delights from around the world, family-friendly drinks, and engaging workshops. One such workshop is offered by Creative Workshops Josi Schöning.
For those arriving by car, free parking is available. For those preferring public transport, the Stadtverkehr Detmold GmbH (SVD) is providing a free bus shuttle service, running between the train station and the festival grounds. The shuttle stops at several locations, including Landesmuseum, Rosental, Hasselter Platz, Klusstraße, Boelckestraße, Moritz-Rülf-Straße, Hangar 21, and the event grounds.
The festival is not just about fun and games. It also serves as a platform for various initiatives focusing on integration and community building. Team Coordination Integration, Integration Perspective e.V., Courage Initiative, and Grandmas against the Right are some of the associations participating in this aspect.
The Afghan Cultural Association e.V., Armenian Association Artaschat in OWL, and the Armenian Orthodox Church in Detmold are also part of the event, bringing a rich cultural diversity to the festival.
The Johannes-Brahms-Music School, Young Theater Detmold, and Detmolder Sportverein 1860/1956 e.V. Basketball department will add a musical and theatrical touch to the afternoon, with performances and demonstrations scheduled throughout the day.
Marianne-Frostig-Kita, Wiesenwichtel Kita, KiTa Sophieneinrichtungen, August-Hermann-Francke-Kita, and Evangelical Free Church Herberhausen are participating Kindergartens, ensuring that the event is family-friendly and caters to children of all ages.
The VdK local association Detmold, Consumer Advice Center NRW Detmold, and Sandokai Detmold e.V. are also present, offering advice and support to festival-goers.
Music will round off the afternoon, providing a fitting conclusion to a day filled with fun, interaction, and cultural exchange. The family festival at Hangar 21 promises to be an event not to be missed.
In addition to the festival, a Sunday shopping event will take place in the Hohenloh district, between 1 and 6 pm, offering visitors a chance to explore the local shops and businesses.
