Gatherings and Festivities Encompassing Multiple Categories
In the heart of Viersen, the annual Carnival celebrations took a memorable turn this year, with the Society of Recreation taking centre stage. As the oldest carnival club in the city, founded by Viersen citizens in 1877, the Society of Recreation has been an active and integral part of the community for 148 years.
The Society of Recreation, led by a managing board, showcased its creative flair during this year's Carnival, as evidenced by its participation. The "Herzblut" friends' circle, under their "Blumenwiese" theme, secured the second place, earning €333.33.
The competition was fierce, with three winners named in total. The "Kecken Jecken" friends' circle emerged victorious with their theme "Mermaid & Co.", taking home the first prize of €555.55. The foot group of the KG Fideles Kränzchen also made their mark, winning third place and receiving €111.11 for their entry.
Carnival Sunday was a vibrant display of creativity and passion from all participants. The Carnival Commissioner, Lothar Beeck, emphasized that every participant deserved a prize, reflecting the spirit of camaraderie and inclusivity that permeated the event.
