Greifswald's Intercultural Week 2025: A Month-Long Celebration of Georgian Culture
The city of Greifswald is set to celebrate its annual Intercultural Week from September 19 to October 20, 2025, with a special focus on Georgian culture. The event will kick off with an opening ceremony at the IGS 'Erwin Fischer' on September 19, featuring vibrant Georgian dance and music performances.
Throughout the four-week celebration, visitors can enjoy a diverse range of activities. These include film evenings, concerts, lectures, sports events, and communal cooking sessions. Many of these events will take place in the Schönwalde I/Südstadt and Schönwalde districts. The Georgian Cultural Association SakARTvelo Berlin will be in attendance, showcasing expressive choreographies, fast turns, and powerful jumps.
The Intercultural Week also includes an intercultural football tournament and an intercultural opening service. Over 40 events are planned in total, with highlights such as two theater performances by the Jewish community of Rostock and a film screening. A creative workshop, 'Journey into the Georgian Alphabet', will also be held.
