Heading to Düsseldorf
The city of Düsseldorf has announced an exciting summer holiday program for children and youth this year, filled with a variety of activities designed to engage and inspire.
Organised by the Youth Welfare Office, free carriers, and Düsseldorf youth associations, the program offers a wide range of activities, including sports and movement, art and media, adventures, and creative activities. The focus, however, will be on local experiences, given the short notice.
Activities will range from hammering, sawing, and digging, to building booths, dealing with animals, and experiencing nature. The program will also feature knightly games, a sports action bus from the city sports association offering archery, football camp, volleyball, and other sports, and a central highlight offered by the Evangelical Youth in Düsseldorf for young participants.
The summer holiday program will consist of one-, two-, or three-week offers in small and fixed groups, with a daily core time of 9 to 16 o'clock. Registrations for the program will start on June 12, 10 a.m., and can be made with the respective carriers of the measure, except for the "Düsseldorfchen" organized by Akki, which requires online booking at [www.duesselfeien.info/].
In light of the current situation, participants will either be tested or required to present a corresponding certificate. City Director Burkhard Hintzsche expressed gratitude to free carriers and youth associations for organising the program and ensuring its coronavirus-compliance.
Approximately 3,500 places are available for the summer holiday program. For those interested in participating, the participation cost for non-Düsseldorf pass holders is 35 euros per week and child, while Düsseldorf pass holders can participate for 17 euros per week and child.
For more information about the program, please contact the youth center zeTT at the main station, which can be reached at telephone 8922033. The program details, registration process, and costs for the 2021 Düsseldorf summer holiday program can be found on the official city or youth services websites from that year.
Among the various activities offered in the Düsseldorf summer holiday program, there will be opportunities for children and youth to immerse in home-and-garden projects, learning practical skills such as hammering, sawing, and digging. Additionally, participants can expect a lifestyle encounter at the central highlight organized by the Evangelical Youth in Düsseldorf, offering unique experiences for young participants.
