What's the scoop?

At their cooking school and event space, "Ape Maria," Michael Streng and his daughter Laura are all about cooking, eating, and having a good time with folks.

This dynamic duo has just opened their dream venture in Erding, aiming to pump some Italian flair into the scene. "Our goal is to create a place where people can cook, eat, and bond," explains Laura Streng. Her ol' man chimes in: "It's supposed to be fun and lively."

Michael Streng, a skilled chef by trade, has a business administration and computer science background and decades of entrepreneur experience under his belt. Laura, a hotel specialist with a gastronomy business administration degree, has also been a part of the culinary industry for a spell. The family spent several years in Milan and fell head over heels for the Italian way of life.

Gather 'round the kitchen!

At the heart of "Ape Maria," is a radiant red household kitchen where a dozen individuals can whip up some culinary magic, as Michael deems, "Every great party ends in the kitchen." In addition to Italian classics and decadent desserts, they offer heartier dishes, such as burgers and sausages, too.

A refurbished dining room with panoramic views of the Sempt Rio offers seating for guests. The space also includes a large area for seminars, conferences, or tastings. The Strengs' fondness for Italy is palpable in the room's retro-style blue and red striped doors, as well as three vintage Ape trucks repurposed as coffee and aperitif bars. A 1952 Berkel slicing machine, both stylish and functional, rounds out the vintage charm.

The father-daughter team is optimistic about the reception from the community. "Our ideas are finally coming to life," says the father, while his daughter adds, "The fun begins when guests arrive." No drop-ins allowed, folks; reservations are a must. Stay tuned for an open house day coming soon.
