Law enforcement agency honored as family-friendly workplace

The Baden-Württemberg Police has once again been recognised for its commitment to family-friendly personnel policies, receiving the "audit berufundfamilie" certificate on June 17, 2025, in Berlin.

The police force has been actively engaged with family support for many years, and this year's award demonstrates their long-term commitment to creating a work environment that balances the demands of the job with the needs of families.

The police offers various options to accommodate family needs, including flexible working conditions, support for childcare, and a range of part-time models. They also provide family-friendly training, childcare options, and remote work opportunities.

Dr. Stefanie Hinz, the President of the State Police, stated that family is crucial for police officers to cope with daily demands. She emphasised that the police continues to evolve in line with societal changes regarding family support, focusing on work-life balance as a key part of police personnel policy for many years.

Thomas Strobl, Deputy Minister-President and Minister of the Interior, also commended the police profession, stating that it is varied, demanding, and offers support during critical life phases, including work-life balance.

The "audit berufundfamilie" award is a quality seal for an employer's commitment to improving family-friendly personnel policy. By receiving this award for the third consecutive year, the Baden-Württemberg Police is recognised for its efforts in setting the right priorities and being a modern, attractive employer in the area of family-friendly personnel policy.
