Lisbon's 9th International Orchid Exhibition Blooms This November
The 9th International Orchid Exhibition in Lisbon is set to bloom from November 28 to 30 at the Santa Clara Market. Visitors can expect a vibrant display of over 90,000 orchid species from across the globe, with a focus on rare specimens from Brazil and Africa.
The exhibition, open daily from 10 am to 7 pm, will follow the international 'Ribbon Judging - Best In Show' model for plant evaluation. Admission is 5 € per person, but members of the Portuguese Orchid Society (APO) and children under 12 can enter for free.
In addition to the main attraction, the event will showcase a variety of tropical plants, including Bonsai, Tillandsias, bromeliads, cacti, and succulents. Products crafted from orchids, such as liqueurs, chocolates, and jewelry, will be available for purchase.
The Portuguese Orchid Society (APO) will offer lectures on the cultivation and use of orchids throughout the exhibition.
