Locals gather for a charitable meal in Brinkum
The seventh edition of the Citizen Brunch, a popular community event, is set to take place at the Multi-Generational House (MGH) Brinkum on Sunday, June 24, starting at 11:00 am. This year, the event promises a fun-filled day for all ages, with activities, a lottery, and a craft market.
The event will feature live performances by the band Bonhomie, who will serenade the crowd with their self-composed folk-rock songs in German, starting at 15:00. A new addition to this year's programme is the children's bingo, offering a fun and engaging experience for the little ones.
More than 50 volunteers are involved in the event, with stalls run by the philosophy group, the house cook, the federal volunteer, and members of the speaking cafe. The lottery, with around 400 prizes donated by local businesses and the Stuhr community, is a highlight of the day. A ticket for the lottery costs just 2 euros.
Proceeds from the event and the lottery will go towards various social projects. These include the transport service, the planned project "Patrons for Refugees", better equipment for the MGH Fahrenhorst, and a new floor covering for the kindergarten in the Brinkum house.
The Citizen Brunch started as an event for older guests but has evolved to welcome families with their children. Activities for children include bean bag toss, badminton, painting, and crafting. The "Children's choir with pep and movement" from Heiligenrode will perform songs to sing along to from 13:30.
Adults can enjoy pork and chicken sausages at the grill, along with cake, salad buffets, and non-alcoholic cocktails prepared by volunteers. For those who prefer a beverage with a little kick, tapped beer will be available. In case of rain, a tent will be set up to ensure the event continues smoothly.
Further donations are still possible for the lottery. Homemade cookies, chutneys, jams, and home accessories are available at the craft market.
The Citizen Brunch at MGH Brinkum is more than just a community gathering; it's a day of fun, food, and fundraising for worthy causes. We hope to see you there!
To make the day more memorable, visitors can purchase homemade goodies like cookies, chutneys, and jams at the craft market, helping to foster an enjoyable home-and-garden lifestyle. After indulging in food and music, outdoor-living enthusiasts can participate in activities like badminton and bean bag toss during the event, integrating fun aspects of work and leisure.
