Long Summer Queues Averted with Embricana's Intervention

New Rules at Emmerich Leisure Pool Embricana

  • Embricana leisure pool enacts safety measures: non-swimmers must sport swimming aids for a safer environment.
  • During the summer holidays, pay-per-hour rates at Embricana will be suspended to alleviate crowds and offer day tickets exclusively.
  • Embricana boasts an exciting summer program with pool parties, action days, and water gymnastics classes for various age groups.

It's another instance "we regret keeps repeating," shares Sonja Killemann. Just like last week. Siblings utilized the massive indoor slide together at Embricana, with one sibling able to swim while the other couldn't.

When the siblings landed in the pool after the slide, the non-swimmer struggled to stay afloat. The lifeguard immediately tackled the emergency situation, while the parents were lounging in the pool's whirlpool.

Safety First

To eliminate these unnecessary hazardous scenarios, the Emmerich leisure pool is tightening its regulations. "Any non-swimmer, irrespective of age, must wear either swimming wings or a life vest during their stay with us," explains Embricana's manager. A precautionary measure promoting safety as the team has observed an influx of visitors unable to swim.

The modification in the regulations will be communicated publicly and highlighted to visitors at the pool entrance. Furthermore, as a temporary measure, there will be a safety adjustment for the pool duration: for the summer holidays, the pool will abandon pay-per-hour rates in favor of day tickets. "The early bird and senior rates will remain, as well as the happy hour in the evening," explains Killemann.

Summer Holidays Program

Why the change? "To eliminate long lines at the cash registers when departing the pool," says Killemann. The pool in Kleve takes a similar approach during the warm months. Guests had voiced their concerns regarding the situation, so Embricana has taken action for this summer. With the day rate during summer holidays, guests can then leave without a second check at the cash register via an exit in the outdoor area.

Speaking of summer holidays, the pool has organized activities for young visitors this year. On July 13th, the holiday season will kick off with a pool party packed with water spectacles. There's also a school holiday card that grants reduced entry. Each Wednesday and Friday during the holidays, there's an action day, offering entertainment for both children and adults. Water gymnastics courses for adults are available every Tuesday and Thursday evening, priced at 7.20 euros for a two-hour session.

The Return of Canine Swimming

Interestingly, after a brief hiatus, a beloved event will return to Embricana in 2025: the dog swimming day on August 31st. Just before the pool shuts down for two weeks of cleaning, which necessitates draining the water, furry friends can take a dip one last time in the pools.

A summer treat for sauna enthusiasts: you can enjoy an all-day sauna for the price of three hours. Additionally, starting in July, the sauna restaurant will introduce a new menu. Summer sauna events, such as a premium sauna evening on July 11th and the summer sauna night on August 9th, will also be held throughout the summer.

  1. To ensure the safety of all its visitors, Emmerich leisure pool Embricana has introduced a new rule requiring any non-swimmer, regardless of age, to wear either swimming wings or a life vest during their stay.
  2. As part of its summer holidays program, Embricana will abandon pay-per-hour rates in favor of day tickets, allowing guests to exit the pool without a second check at the cash register via an outdoor exit, thereby eliminating long lines.
