Lunar Invasion: Moonpigs Touch Down
Moonpig Reintroduces Iconic Mascot and Launches New Advertising Campaign
Moonpig, the UK's leading online greeting card and gifting platform, is set to launch a new advertising campaign on April 1st, 2023. The campaign will feature a new set of characters known as the Moonpigs, designed to reinforce Moonpig's brand purpose of 'Creating moments that matter between people every day'.
According to Stu Outhwaite-Noel, Chief Creative Officer of advertising agency Creature, the Moonpigs are destined to spread joy and happiness. Creature has spearheaded the creative, concept, and design work for the Moonpig campaign and has also produced a 30-second ad that launches the Moonpig campaign and introduces the new characters.
The Moonpigs are a snuffly little friend, taking center stage in the new advertising campaign. They will change their little outfits to match the designs in Moonpig's card range, making them as memorable as the original Moonpig mascot.
Kristof Fahy, Chief Marketing Officer of Moonpig, expressed his excitement for the upcoming ads and the introduction of more Moonpigs in the next couple of years. He stated that the goal of the new campaign is to take the warm, fuzzy feeling of receiving a thoughtful gift and make it visual. The Moonpigs aim to inspire everyone to connect with the people they love.
The pig, a key brand asset unique to Moonpig, was lost somewhere along the way and is now being brought back in the new campaign. Moonpig aims to re-engage and bring its brand name to life again with the help of these cute, unique little characters.
The Moonpigs will tell various stories across multiple occasions. Kristof Fahy stated that the new Moonpigs are a new addition to Moonpig's brand assets, following the return of the pig mascot. He expressed his anticipation for the upcoming ads, believing that they will capture the hearts of the public and encourage people to send thoughtful gifts to their loved ones.
