Lünen's Family Fair, labeled #Hello_Family, receives positive feedback from attendees
On a sunny Saturday morning, the newly opened city library in Lünen played host to the first ever #Hello_Family! Baby and Family Fair. The event, organised by the Stadtbibliothek Lünen, aimed to provide information and advisory services about pregnancy, childbirth, and the first few months with a child.
More than 120 people attended the fair, eager to gain knowledge and insights that would help them navigate the exciting and challenging journey of parenthood. Midwives, experts in parent-child courses, child daycare, family sponsorships, a pediatrician, a baby sleep coach, and infant first aid experts were all on hand to offer advice and answer questions.
The fair was a bustling hub of activity, with crafting activities, play stations, a 'Siblings Diploma', waffles, and balloons all part of the offerings. A dental service provided valuable information on preventive care and dental health, while the Dortmund Children's Protection Association drew attention to potential home hazards using a virtual reality headset.
An accompanying children's program ensured the care of the youngest visitors, allowing parents-to-be to focus on absorbing the wealth of information available. The fair was open to the public between 10 am and 1 pm, and ran as part of the annual Baby and Family Fair in Lünen.
