Marking the festivities for our premier news figures and the unveiling of the Resiliency Fund on our platform.

In the heart of Greater Philadelphia, a nonprofit organization is making waves in the world of journalism. The Public Media Newsroom, a source for fact-based, in-depth journalism and information, is a unique hub that features a diverse range of local content streams and beats.

The News department of this public media newsroom includes The Pulse, News Climate Desk, Billy Penn, PlanPhilly, and an environmental justice beat. Each of these streams is dedicated to providing unique, locally relevant content that keeps the community informed and engaged.

The Public Media Newsroom relies on the financial support of its readers to continue its mission. The community's support is what makes the journalism possible. This support has been instrumental in the newsroom's ability to weather challenges, such as the 7% annual impact on the budget due to the federal government's cease in funding the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Recently, the newsroom launched the Resiliency Fund to help offset budgetary woes and ensure a sustainable future. This fund is a testament to the newsroom's commitment to public service journalism and its role in informing and shaping civic engagement in local communities.

The newsroom is also home to a team of mission-driven and passionate journalists. Maria Pulcinella, now the lead digital content producer at the newsroom's website, brings nearly a decade of experience in local news to the table. Her work has been featured on NPR, HuffPost, and VICE Media.

Mark Eichmann, with over two decades of news coverage experience in Delaware and 17 years at the newsroom, was recently promoted to news director. Sarah Glover, the Vice President of News & Civic Dialogue, oversees the newsroom's operations. Madhu Bora, another seasoned journalist with over two decades of experience at The Philadelphia Inquirer, Indianapolis Star, Tampa Bay Times, and Press of Atlantic City, was promoted to senior managing editor.

The public is encouraged to become a member of the Public Media Newsroom and/or donate to help continue providing high-quality journalism, entertainment, and educational programming. People, like the news leaders, power the newsroom's storytelling and connect newsmaking practices to local communities via the website's civic news work.

As Dan Rather, a renowned broadcaster, once said, 'Ratings don't last, but good journalism does.' The Public Media Newsroom in Greater Philadelphia is a shining example of this sentiment, providing factual, in-depth journalism that resonates with its audience and contributes to the vibrant civic dialogue of the community.

The public is urged to give today to support the Public Media Newsroom and help ensure its continued success in serving the Greater Philadelphia area.
