Martha Recently Added 40 Stunning New Hybrid Tea Roses to Her Garden - View the Namesake Blooms Now
Martha Stewart, renowned home-living expert and gardener, has added a new hybrid tea rose to her verdant estate in Bedford, New York. The property, adorned with a rich array of flowers, trees, and produce, now includes the Martha Stewart hybrid rose.
Stewart shared on her blog that she recently received 40 plants of this new variety from rosarian Danielle Dall'Armi Hahn, owner of Rose Story Farm in Carpinteria, California. The roses, with some already in bloom, were planted in a previously used vegetable garden, followed by a flower-cutting garden. According to Stewart, the soil in the area is excellent, and the surrounding fence is ideal for climbing roses, including a grouping of varieties in various colors.
The Martha Stewart hybrid rose features large pink blooms, dark green foliage, and a delightful, sweet fragrance reminiscent of citrus honeysuckle. When in peak bloom, it boasts more than 100 lush pink-to-apricot colored petals. The rose's leaves are pinnate, meaning they have a central rib with leaflets along each side.
Stewart's team prepared 40 holes for the plants, evenly spaced on each side of the center footpath in her garden. When planting, holes should be slightly wider but equal in depth to the rose's root ball, typically around 15 to 18 inches deep by 18 to 24 inches wide.
Martha Stewart's gardener carefully removed each plant from its pot. She advises doing this slowly, especially if the root ball is moist and crumbling. The roots were gently teased to stimulate growth, and each plant was placed in its designated hole. Stewart ensured that the top of the root ball was about an inch above the hole before backfilling, and the surrounding soil was carefully leveled and tidied.

Stewart notes that she saved all 40 pots that the rose plants came in for future use and repurposing.
The Martha Stewart hybrid tea rose was bred by Meilland, a family-owned rose-growing business. It was launched in North America through Star Roses and Plants. Although limited supply of bare-root plants was available for purchase during the 2025 season, the rose will officially debut more widely in independent garden centers starting in 2026.
Thirteen of Martha Stewart's rose bushes have been planted in the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden at the New York Botanical Garden. Visitors can currently see the hybrid tea rose in bloom at the garden.
