Mixed-use development in northern Forsyth County will soon feature residential properties and commercial establishments
In the heart of North Forsyth County, construction is underway for a new mixed-use development that promises to become a lively gathering place for residents and guests. The project, named The Crossing at Coal Mountain, is being developed by Atlantic Residential.
Scheduled to open in summer 2026, The Crossing at Coal Mountain spans over 140 acres and boasts 47,000 square feet of shopping, dining, entertainment, and housing. Brett Bowden, the senior development manager at Atlantic Residential, is overseeing the project.
The Crossing at Coal Mountain aims to offer year-round opportunities for shopping, dining, and socializing. Approximately 60% of the retail space will be dedicated to food and beverage vendors, while the remaining space will be reserved for clothing stores, at least one grocery store, and services such as salons, gyms, and spas.
This development is more than just a shopping centre; it's a community hub. The Crossing at Coal Mountain is designed to cultivate community by providing green spaces for relaxation and social interaction.
The project began construction in July, with frames already set for the main mixed-use building and two of the multifamily buildings. The development is located at the intersection of Matt Highway and Dahlonega Highway/Highway 9 in Coal Mountain, north of Forsyth County.
The Crossing at Coal Mountain is poised to become a vibrant, welcoming space for all. With its scheduled opening in summer 2026, the anticipation builds for this exciting new addition to North Forsyth County.
