Multi-Generational Choirs Converge at Leo Theater's Song Gathering

The St. Marien Quarter is set to host a captivating choir festival on Sunday, September 28th, at the Leo Theater, located at Wilhelmstraße 41.

Three ensembles will grace the stage at the festival: the Marienspatzen of the St. Marien Quarter, the ENchor, and the choir UnbENotet. The Marienspatzen, under the direction of Uli Wewelsiep, aim to evoke memories and touch hearts through their performance. The ENchor, known for its captivating pop music, shaped by Uli Wewelsiep's warm and authentic style, will also perform. Lea Bergen, Choir Director of UnbENotet, brings fresh energy to the festival with a repertoire of ballads, pop songs, and modern choral pieces, designed to create goosebump moments.

The festival will take place at 4 PM, with doors opening at 3 PM. Admission to the event is free, with donations welcome. Invitation cards for the festival are available at the St. Marien Quarter, Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 48, between 10 AM and 6 PM.

The program for the choir festival includes a mix of timeless classics and modern arrangements, encouraging audience participation. Uli Wewelsiep and Lea Bergen will be the musical directors for the festival. Bettina Spitz, Quarter Leader of the St. Marien Quarter, expresses the choir as a small musical family.

The ENchor choir was founded in 1998 at the Bergische Music School Wuppertal, while The ENchor, a more recent addition, was established in 2005. The Marienspatzen, a long-standing part of the St. Marien Quarter, are particularly excited for their performance at the choir festival.

Don't miss this opportunity to experience the harmonious blend of traditional and modern choral music in the heart of the St. Marien Quarter. Join us at the Leo Theater on September 28th for an unforgettable evening of music and camaraderie.
