The Seehaus Pilsensee, nestled right on the lake shore, is undeniably one of the hottest spots in Seefeld's municipality. New managers Stefan Goemoeri and Rudi Berko have taken the reins.

Seefeld - The dynamic duo, Chefs and restaurant veterans Stefan Goemoeri (44) and Rudolf Berko (45), are all smiles at the Seehaus Pilsensee press event. Despite the excitement, these seasoned pros in the hospitality industry aren't newbies. They've been working in the business since 2005 and decided to pool their talents to run a restaurant together. Goemoeri has a proven track record in this field, having run the Pizzeria Sportivo at TSV Oberalting-Seefeld since 2013.

Goemoeri started off as a cook and pizza maker back in 2005. His dreams of branching out on his own had been brewing for a while, and he took over the pizzeria in 2013. "I'd been thinking about it for a long time," he admits in an interview with our website. Renovating the pizza oven and gradually expanding the small venue, he transformed it into a bustling business that's beloved by Seefeld residents and more. He has 55 indoor seats and 100 outdoor, and he's backed by his brother and an A-team. Now, he plans to bring the same success to the Seehaus.

It wasn't just Goemoeri who had the idea to take over the Seehaus. After years of intermittent contact, he and Berko sat down together last year. Berko was working for a catering company at the time, harboring dreams of self-employment, albeit eyeing different locations. However, they were too far for Goemoeri's liking. The Seehaus had earlier been offered to Goemoeri, but he wasn't ready then. Another tenant had taken over, but they eventually packed up, making way for Goemoeri and Berko's joint venture. In December, they struck a deal with the manager of the campsite, which belongs to Count zu Toerring-Jettenbach.

The airy Seehaus boasts 70 indoor seats, and another 125 outdoor, under lanterns, chestnut trees, and palm trees, right by the lake shore. There's no shortage of stunning viewspots to enjoy Pilsensee. The new innkeepers are well aware that it's a seasonal business. They enjoyed a full house on the first day of May, but the following days saw lighter crowds due to the weather. From June onwards, the campsite will be bustling, and Goemoeri and Berko are fully stocked with a team of up to 20 people, including their wives Renata Berko and Julie Goemoeri. They aim to change the daily dishes every second or third day, cook fresh, and use regional products. The menu features tomato-mozzarella salad, Seehaus fish soup, pasta with burrata, Kaiserschmarrn, and tartufo, among others. They source their meat from Metzgerei Ruf, their beer from the in-house brewery Toerring, and their fresh cakes from Daniel Stahl in Pöcking.

The key takeaway about Seefeld's lakeside restaurant, according to the owners, is that there's no entrance fee. "There's no entrance fee for anyone visiting us," emphasizes Goemoeri. He often hears that guests have to pay for the campsite and beach to access the restaurant. "That's a misunderstanding." It's best to clarify with the gate that you're only there to eat. The innkeepers and the campsite management have agreed on this. It's always a good idea to reserve a table in advance.

The Seehaus is currently open from 5 to 10 pm on Tuesdays to Fridays, with hot food served from 5:30 to 9:30 pm. On Sundays and holidays, it's open from 12 to 10 pm, with hot food available from 12:30 to 2:30 pm and 5:30 to 9:30 pm. "We've always got small dishes available," Berko stresses. For the winter, they have plans to offer Christmas parties and events. Reservations and inquiries can be made at (0 81 52) 98 98 76.

In the Press event at Seehaus Pilsensee, chefs Stefan Goemoeri and Rudi Berko are excited about their new venture, aiming to revamp the restaurant's food-and-drink offerings while maintaining a lifestyle ambiance that blends harmoniously with the home-and-garden setting by the lake. With a variety of fresh, regional dishes on the menu, Seefeld residents and visitors can look forward to an improved dining experience, free of an entrance fee, making it an accessible choice for all.
