Open-air music festivities in Dusseldorf's Hofgarten: Four jazz and world music concerts set for Saturday, embracing freedom and openness.
The Düsseldorf Jazz Association is set to host a captivating summer music series, showcasing an array of talented artists from various genres. The series, which runs until mid-August, will take place at the Musikpavillon in the Hofgarten between the Schauspielhaus and Schloss Jägerhof.
Kicking off the series on Saturday, July 26th at 3 PM, the program includes Karolina Strassmayer & Drori Mondlak - Klaro!, Cacha Mundinho, Joana Almeida from Portugal, Maripepa Contreras from Spain, Pedro Ivo Ferreira from Brazil, Sjahin During from Turkey/Netherlands, and the band FL!M. Members of FL!M include Zainab Lax, Nihat Iman, Tim von Malotki, Luna Weise, and Till Menzer.
On August 9th at the same time, audiences can enjoy the Matthias Nadolny Quartet and VKB Band. Rachelle Garniez, Amanda Homi, and Kirsten Thien make up the lineup of VKB Band. The concert on this day is organised in cooperation with the "One World Forum Düsseldorf".
The series continues on August 16th with Three of a Kind and FL!M. Maik Krahl's In-Between Flow and Margaux and the Bandits will also perform on this day. Maik Krahl's In-Between Flow consists of Maik Krahl (trumpet), Constantin Krahmer (piano), Jakob Kühnemann (bass), and Dominik Raab (drums). Margaux and the Bandits consists of Margaux Kier (vocals), Henning Brand (piano), Frank Wingold (guitar), and Reza Askari (bass).
Apart from these concerts, the Düsseldorf Jazz Association offers a diverse program that goes far beyond jazz. The series offers diverse music between contemporary jazz and excursions into other cultures. This diversity suggests the association embraces a broad musical and cultural spectrum to complement their jazz foundation.
The association's programming expands into other genres and cultural expressions like dance parties that feature funk, soul, Latin, reggae, disco, and house music. This rich, varied cultural offering beyond traditional jazz is a testament to the association's commitment to cultural diversity and artistic exploration.
The series is supported by the Cultural Office of the City of Düsseldorf and District 1. Admission to the series is free, making it an accessible and enjoyable event for all music lovers.
