Organization for Enthusiasts of Nautical Timepiece Accumulations

In the heart of the Maritime provinces of Canada – Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island – a group of enthusiasts has been fostering a community of horologists. The Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (MAWCC) was formed in response to the lack of representation for vintage and antique clock and watch collecting and repair in the region.

Established in 2019, the MAWCC held its first meeting on November 2-3 in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Five members attended the inaugural gathering, marking the beginning of a community dedicated to sharing experiences, mentoring each other, learning new techniques, providing opportunities to acquire clocks and watches, and fostering social interaction.

The group has agreed to no less than two meetings per year, with sub-groups meeting more frequently. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the MAWCC has stayed connected through email, ensuring that its members remain engaged and informed. As the climate improves, the group is eager for another face-to-face meeting shortly.

It is important to note that the MAWCC is not affiliated with the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC), an American-based clock and watch group. While the NAWCC is a well-known organisation, the MAWCC caters specifically to the horological community in the Maritime provinces of Canada.

As of now, there is no current NAWCC representation in the Maritime provinces. For the most accurate and current information on MAWCC’s status and future plans, consulting their official website, contacting association representatives, or accessing specialized horological community forums or publications would be necessary.

For those interested in joining the MAWCC, Wendell Feener can be contacted at [email protected]. Together, horologists in the Maritime provinces can continue to grow and thrive as a community, sharing their passion for clock and watch collecting and repair.

Horology enthusiasts in the Maritime provinces of Canada have found a way to connect through the Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (MAWCC), a community dedicated to vintage clocks, an essential part of home-and-garden lifestyle. Members of this association gather to share experiences, learn new techniques, and foster social interaction in the realm of horology.
