Our Organization's Profile
The Botanical Garden of Augsburg, nestled within Siebentischpark, is gearing up for an enchanting summer season in 2025. From June 28 to August 9, the garden will be romantically illuminated every Saturday and August 14, extending its opening hours until midnight[1]. This illuminated event will create a magical atmosphere, with lighting of trees, shrubs, and flowers from different perspectives, accompanied by a musical program[2].
During the summer event, visitors can enter the garden until 11 pm[1]. The garden spans over 10 hectares and houses over 3000 plant species, including 450 different species and varieties of trees[2]. A total of 1200 tropical and subtropical species and varieties are in the plant collection in the greenhouses of the Botanical Garden.
In addition to the summer illumination, the exhibition "From Bean, Peanut, and Mimosa - Fabulous Fabaceae" will be on display from May 31 to November 9, 2025, during regular opening hours[1]. This exhibition focuses on the large family of legumes, also known as Fabaceae or pulses, featuring over 1200 species and varieties of perennials, wildflowers, grasses, and ferns.
For those interested in medicinal herbs, the Augsburg Apothecary Garden offers a comprehensive guide. Edited by Siegfried Hagspiel and Richard Keller and published by the City of Augsburg, Botanical Garden, the guide provides 48 pages of color images and illustrations, offering a comprehensive look at medicinal herbs[2]. The guide is priced at 2.50 Euro plus 1.50 Euro for shipping[2].
The Botanical Garden of Augsburg also offers garden tours and thematic events[2]. However, as of the time of writing, there is no information available about current curators, directors, or notable staff at the Botanical Garden for 2025.
