Outfitted in Fashionable Attire: Description Revisited

3-minute read 🕒

Ever since our Conical fermenters hit the market in 2017, we've been bombarded with one question – "What accessories go best with my setup?". Today, we're sharing Ryan's go-to list of top 9 Conical Fermenter Accessories that every brewer should consider. 🎯

1. Racking Arm 🥄

Perfect for brewing 5-gallon batches, the racking arm helps you extract every last drop from the fermenter, ensuring zero liquid is wasted. 🍻

2. Silicone Tubing 🌿

For the initial days of fermentation, use 5 feet of silicone tubing from the 90-degree barb on the lid to let carbon dioxide push off the beer. 🤘

3. 2" TC QC 🔧

I prefer filling the fermenter completely sealed, from the bottom dump port. For this, I use the 2" TC QC and the Female Quick Connect Barb to move from my wort chiller into the fermenter. 🔄

4. Shorty Leg Extensions & Extended Bracing Shelf 🏗️

These extensions are a must-have for maintaining both height and stability, while making the fermenter less backbreaking to work with. 💪

5. 2" Sight Glass 🤳

When dumping yeast, trub, and hops, I add the 2" Sight Glass to the bottom dump port. This lets me see exactly what I'm releasing, preventing precious beer from being poured down the drain. 👁️‍🗨️

6. TC100 Bundle 🌡️

Especially useful in our region's volatile climate, the TC100 bundle offers reliable temperature control, ensuring optimal brewing conditions. ☀️

7. Glycol Chiller 🚽

In coordination with the TC100 bundle, the glycol chiller plays a crucial role, helping to chill beer for cold crashing and stabilizing temps during Wisconsin's hot yet short summers. 🥶

8. Carb Stone Bundle with All-In-One PRV 🧁

The All-In-One PRV is essential for maintaining pressure in the fermenter and preventing oxygen exposure, while the carb stone comes in handy for oxygenating the beer before pitching yeast and carbonating once the brew is ready for kegging.

In addition to conical fermenters, here are some accessories that can enhance a home-and-garden lifestyle, particularly for home brewers: gadgets such as a Racking Arm and a 2" Sight Glass, technology like the TC100 Bundle and Glycol Chiller, and other home-and-garden items like Silicone Tubing and Shorty Leg Extensions & Extended Bracing Shelf can greatly improve a brewer's setup and experience. Furthermore, gadgets like the Carb Stone Bundle with All-In-One PRV can help with carbonating beer and maintaining optimal pressure in the fermenter.
