Over 140 Young Artists Win Duisburg Swimming Competition
Over 140 young artists, aged twelve and under, participated in the 'Duisburg learns to swim' painting competition. Sparkasse Duisburg judged the entries and awarded prizes to ten talented winners at the Rhein-Ruhr baths.
The competition, supported by Oberbürgermeister Sören Link, aimed to promote swimming among Duisburg's youth. More than 500 children have enrolled in the first two course series to learn swimming and earn the seahorse badge. The project has reached around 20 percent of a primary school graduating class.
The winning paintings illustrated the ten swimming rules for children, showcasing the young artists' creativity and understanding of water safety. The main prize, the 'Golden Swimming Ticket', offers a year of free entry to all municipal baths and free swimming badge acquisition.
The 'Duisburg learns to swim' project continues to make waves, engaging children and promoting swimming skills. The painting competition not only encouraged artistic expression but also reinforced essential water safety rules.
