Performing Artists Showcase Their Skills at "Almaty - Arman qala" Music Event
The Multimedial Center of Traditional Music in Almaty recently hosted a concert named "Almaty - Dream City," attracting a diverse audience of students, schoolchildren, and admirers of national art. The event, held on an unspecified date for City Day, was a gathering for those who appreciate the beauty and richness of Kazakh musical culture.
Ruza Kagenova, the center's director, noted that the concerts aim to help schoolchildren and students hear national instruments live and get closer to Kazakh heritage. This year, students from the Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts performed, presenting both folk songs and instrumental compositions. The performances showcased the richness of Kazakh musical culture, filling hearts with patriotism and providing a platform for young talents to shine.
Gulim Izmaganieva, a student from the Academy of Arts, expressed her happiness about performing folk songs for the audience during the concert. She mentioned that City Day is one of her favourite holidays. Ruza Kagenova also noted that they always prepare a special program for City Day.
The concert featured songs about Almaty and Kazakh folk melodies performed by young artists. The Multimedial Center of Traditional Music's unique exhibition, which includes rare musical instruments belonging to prominent figures in Kazakh art, added an extra layer of educational value to the event. However, the search results do not provide specific names of celebrities whose rare musical instruments are exhibited in the Traditional Music Center.
Last year, students from the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory performed at the center, continuing the tradition of showcasing young talent in the realm of Kazakh music. The concert at the Multimedial Center of Traditional Music was indeed a platform for these young artists to perform Kazakh folk songs and instrumental compositions.
According to Ruza Kagenova, the center hosts concerts like this at least twice a month, making it a regular destination for those interested in exploring and celebrating Kazakh musical heritage. The enjoyable and educational visits to the Multimedial Center of Traditional Music continue to enrich the cultural landscape of Almaty.
