In the heart of Vermont, nestled in the town of Williston, lies the homebrew setup of Aaron R. A passionate homebrewer with a love for mixed fermentation, barrel-aged, and fruit beers, Aaron has been perfecting his craft for five years.

Aaron's brewing journey began with a 10-gallon Spike kettle, which he later upgraded to a 30-gallon model. He appreciates the quality of his Spike kettle and accessories, finding them to be reliable and durable.

Aaron's current setup is a Mega BIAB (Brew in a Bag) system, which he uses for his regular brews. For special projects and club brews, he turns to his trusty 30-gallon Spike kettle.

One of Aaron's most memorable brewing experiences involved brewing a golden sour wort in his garage during extremely cold weather. The result was an unwanted flavour of Dimethyl Sulfide (DMS) due to the low temperatures. However, he didn't let this setback deter him. After bubbling CO2 through the beer and aging it in a barrel for a year with a large mix of microbes, it is now shaping up to be a fantastic sour beer.

Aaron emphasises the importance of starting small, building a foundation of knowledge and experience, and adding temperature control to one's setup as soon as possible. He found a fermentation chamber with full temperature control to be impactful on his brewing.

Aaron is a member of the Green Mountain Mashers homebrew club, where he shares his passion for brewing with like-minded individuals. His wish list includes a 1BBL Spike conical, a testament to his commitment to his craft.

You can learn more about Aaron and his brewing adventures on his website, Ritchiebrewing.com. Despite the lack of extensive documentation about his experiences with Spike Brewing equipment, Aaron's story serves as an inspiration for homebrewers everywhere.

In Aaron's home-and-garden, his food-and-drink lifestyle intertwines perfectly with his passion for homebrewing. His cooking experiments may also extend to recipe development for the beers he brews on his brew day. His wish list, which includes a 1BBL Spike conical, indicates a possible expansion of his lifestyle to include more serious, professional-level homebrewing. Websites like Ritchiebrewing.com showcase Aaron's homebrew adventures, offering valuable insights to fellow homebrewers seeking inspiration in their own endeavors with Spike Brewing equipment.
