The Pixi anniversary exhibition, titled "Pixi. 70 years of little books," has been extended at the Franconian Open-Air Museum Fladungen. Originally scheduled to close on August 17, 2023, the exhibition will now continue until November 9, 2025, due to the cancellation of the "Land.schafft.Klang" exhibition.

This popular exhibition, a project of the Altona Museum, Stiftung Historische Museen Hamburg, Carlsen Verlag, and the Franconian Open-Air Museum Fladungen, showcases over 1,000 Pixi covers from seven decades. Designed by Hamburg illustrator Regina Kehn, the exhibition features interactive stations, cosy reading spots, and original illustrations by various artists.

Museum director Niklas Hertwig expressed his pleasure about the extended Pixi exhibition, stating that it is particularly popular among families. He added that creative group offers for children from kindergarten to primary school age are still bookable, and registration for the holiday program is required.

The holiday program for children aged 6 and above will commence on August 5 at the Franconian Open-Air Museum Fladungen. Children can participate in various workshops such as paper crafting, book binding, woodblock printing, and felting a bookmark. Each action in the holiday program costs 4 euros, in addition to the museum entrance fee.

On August 17, the motto for the Finissage (closing event) is "Pixi stays - we celebrate that." The day will also see a special appearance by Pixi, the walking act, who will mix with the audience and pose for group photos. Guided tours for adults and children are offered on August 17 at 11 am and 2 pm.

The popular reading hour series will continue every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 4 pm. Visitors are encouraged to immerse themselves in the world of Pixi and enjoy the interactive exhibition before it closes on November 9, 2025.

Visitors interested in expanding their home-and-garden or lifestyle repertoire may find the extended Pixi anniversary exhibition at the Franconian Open-Air Museum Fladungen particularly appealing, as it showcases over 1,000 Pixi covers from seven decades, including books that could offer insights and inspiration. Meanwhile, the holiday program for children aged 6 and above, commencing on August 5, offers a wide range of hands-on workshops such as paper crafting, book binding, and felting a bookmark, all within the interactive Pixi exhibition environment, making it an ideal destination for both entertainment and education.
