"Public Art Showcase in Bremen: Mohar Kalra's creation, "Bremensch", now on display at Tiefer"
The city of Bremen is set to witness an intriguing environmental intervention this September, as American artist Mohar Kalra unveils his temporary art installation, "Breman/Bremensch", along the Weserpromenade. This remarkable installation will be on display from September 7 to 29 at Tiefer (Anleger Tiefer 2).
"Breman/Bremensch" is a floating sculpture designed to mirror the city of Bremen, emerging from the water and facing its future. The artwork, created by Kalra, is said to reflect both the past and the future of the city, serving as a symbolic representation of its fluid identity.
Kalra views his installation as a mirror for the city and its inhabitants, inviting them to see themselves in "Breman/Bremensch" and reflect on their unique perspectives. The sculpture, which carries a tangled nest of debris, represents material once swept down the Weser, symbolising the city's negotiation with its energies and changes.
