Reopening of Miramar Fun Pool Following a Fire After a Six-Month Absence
Update on the Miramar Leisure Pool's Reopening!
Hey there, pool enthusiasts! Get ready to dip your toes back into the water, because after six long months, the much-loved Miramar leisure pool in Weinheim (Rhein-Neckar district) is set to reopen!
Lara Steinhart, the managing director, couldn't be more excited, stating, "It was a massive undertaking, but we're thrilled to get things back up and running!" The reopening had been delayed several times due to the extent of the damages, which were more severe than initially assumed.
Now, let's dive right into what's changed and what's new for your poolside adventures!
Fresh Facilities and Accessibility
The restroom area and central changing rooms have undergone a complete overhaul, now boasting a barrier-free design. Previously, family changing rooms were scattered around, but now there's a dedicated "social area" for families, equipped with a changing table. The entrance with the ticket booths has been given a modern makeover, too.
Acoustic sound absorbers on the ceiling will help to soften the noise, making your poolside chats that much more enjoyable.
Exciting Renovations and Celebrations
The Experience Pool and Sauna area, which suffered from soot, heat, and smoke damage, have seen a modern refresh and redesign.
Get ready to kick off the sauna world's grand reopening on July 4th with a "Welcome Back" bash! Face painting, a magician, and a DJ are all on the menu to make the celebration unforgettable.
What's Still Under Construction?
Unfortunately, the therapy pool, which was completely decimated in the fire, won't be ready for swimming just yet. It's expected to be operational by the end of the year. Word is that it will be rebuilt to match the original design.
Ticket Prices Remain the Same
And don't worry about your wallet – ticket prices are holding steady! A day ticket for the leisure pool is 8.90 euros for children between 2 and 6 years, 22.90 euros for kids and teens between 7 and 15 years, and 29.90 euros for guests aged 16 and above.
Sauna ticket prices have taken a small dip, as the currently unavailable therapy pool is usually included. And great news for those who purchased gift vouchers before the fire – they're still good to go!
