Yakutsk Inspires Photo Contest Kicks Off
Yakutsk, the largest city in the world's coldest region, is inviting residents and photographers to capture the essence of their city in a unique photo contest. Organized by the Yakutsk City Administration and NVK "Sakha", the "Yakutsk Inspires" photo contest aims to foster a positive image of Yakutsk, promote its historical and cultural heritage, and reflect the city's social and cultural life through photography.
The contest, which is dedicated to the 392nd anniversary of the city's founding, offers five categories for participants to showcase their skills: "Yakutsk Historical", "City Life", "City People", "City Landscapes", and the "Creative Photo Series".
In the "Yakutsk Historical" category, participants are encouraged to submit historical photographs or archival photos of the city environment and residents from the 19-20 centuries. The "City Life" category invites submissions of mass events, scenes from the daily life of citizens, and genre photographs. The "City People" category focuses on individual and group photographs (portraits) of Yakutsk residents, while the "City Landscapes" category includes landmarks, architectural monuments, recognizable locations, and favorite places of Yakutsk residents.
The "Creative Photo Series" category requires submissions of 5-10 photographs united by the common theme "My Yakutsk" with an original and creative approach to photography.
Participants in the photo contest will receive certificates, and the authors of the best works will be awarded diplomas and valuable prizes. The best works from the contest will be published on the website of the Yakutsk City Administration, "Yakutia 24", and other mass media.
To participate, Yakutians aged 14 and above can submit their applications and photos to the email address: [email protected]. Participants can submit only one work per category. The deadline for application and photo submission is September 5.
