Despite its small size, the Tefal Blend Up arrives in a large box with plenty of cushioning for protection. Kudos to Tefal for using recycled materials, and making suggestions for sustainable disposal of the single-use plastic packaging.

The Tefal is an absolute breeze to operate, offering two sizes of blending cups (850 ml and 450 ml) with lids that easily screw onto a blade base for hassle-free blending.
The base station features a dial with various preset programs (smoothie, crushed ice, quiet, dip, sauce, nut milk, cold soup, and pulse), making it a snap to prepare your favorite recipes. The programs are auto-timed, allowing you to multitask and ensure that your blender does all the work.

Every blender test begins with smoothies – not just because we're smoothie fanatics, but because they provide an excellent test for any blender. We whipped up a concoction containing frozen blueberries, raspberries, oats, spinach, and almond milk with a banana for good measure. The Blend Up delivered a lump-free, seamless smoothie in just one minute.
When we added a scoop of protein powder, the smoothie remained lump-free, thanks to its efficient blending capabilities. Put simply, the Tefal Blend Up outperformed expectations!

Test 2: Dips, Hummus & Salsa

Moving onto dips tested the blender's resilience, as the small blades at the bottom had a tougher time handling the lack of liquid. However, with a little stirring and shaking (a common occurrence with bullet blenders), we managed to produce a fantastic hummus, wild garlic pesto, salsa, and guacamole.

We weren't confident that the Tefal would be able to crush ice, but our skepticism was swiftly put to rest. The misting ice proved that the Tefal possesses some magical blendin' capabilities – ready your cocktails for some frosty fun!

Traditional bullet blenders are not designed to handle hot soups, but the Tefal Blend Up defied expectations once again. With cooled peas, mint, onions, garlic, and stock, we made a delicious pea and mint soup that was every bit as creamy and smooth as those churned out by larger blenders.

Tefal recommends hand-washing the blending cups, making the process simple and straightforward, especially with the included cleaning tool that gets under the blades effectively. The control dial on the front of the Tefal does require a quick wipe and polish.
