revised parking plan proposed for Nordstadt and Luisenviertel areas
In the heart of talbeteiligung.de/parkraumkonzept, curious folk share innovative thoughts, suggestions, or fixes concerning public parking spaces, particularly for two specific neighborhoods. With the catchy slogan "Parking? You betcha, but let's plan it out!", the city's conducting a parking concept endeavor as a model for others. This idea strives to balance the varying expectations and necessities for public space in the targeted regions.
The buzz around the subject was palpable at the initial event. A popular car hall in Alte Feuerwache attracted a crowd as Dezernent Gunnar Ohrndorf, project head Stella Maria Schwietering, and representatives from "die mobildenker" (a traffic and mobility planning office) and the Gesellschaft für Bürgergutachten (gfb) greeted participants.
The project began in earnest, addressing general obstacles throughout the shared use of public space, characterized by a huge traffic zone, increasing assortment of transportation methods, and escalating car registrations. After outlining the issues, the peculiarities in the Nordstadt and Luisenviertel neighborhoods, and the project's further development, followed the conversation.
Currently, online participation is taking off and will run through March 19. Future steps include a status analysis, assessment, evaluation, and conflict analysis, leading to tailor-made measures and an implementation strategy. Monitoring and evaluation will occur throughout and post-implementation.
Additional citizen participation methods are integral in creating the parking concept: Three walking tours are arranged for June 27, July 1, and 2, where participants can explore and discuss difficulties associated with various transportation methods and propose improvements on the premises.
Workshops will be supplementing the mobile events. The goal is to have the parking concept ready by the end of the year, initially presented to the public at a conclusion event, followed by submission to politics for decision-making. Stay tuned!
