Route Safety for School Commute

On September 17, 2025, during the European Mobility Week, the Paffrath Community Primary School in Bergisch Gladbach will receive a donation of 1,070 reflective safety vests from the KRÜGER GROUP. The handover ceremony, taking place on the schoolyard of GGS Paffrath, will be attended by school management, first-graders, IP GL managing directors, and KRÜGER GROUP representatives.

The KRÜGER GROUP, a local sponsor, has supported the safety vest procurement initiative by IP GL for the second time. This initiative aims to equip as many first-graders as possible at the municipal primary schools with reflective safety vests. The neon-green vests will help children be recognized earlier in traffic, offering an additional safety measure for students who walk to school.

The Infrastructure and Project Company Bergisch Gladbach (IP GL) GmbH, responsible for traffic safety measures in the city, has been working to increase the safety of first-graders and equip them with reflective safety vests for several years. Willi Schmitz, one of the managing directors of IP GL, emphasized the importance of equipping first-graders with reflective safety vests, especially during the darker season.

Nurten Bongard, Senior Communication Manager of the KRÜGER GROUP, shared similar sentiments, stating, "Good visibility in traffic during the darker season is crucial, and we are pleased to contribute to more safety on the school route, giving parents and children a good feeling for the start of the day."

The other primary schools will receive the safety vests from the 37th week onwards through GL-Service gGmbH or the police for distribution to the respective entrance classes. Susanne Heuckmann, principal of the Paffrath Community Primary School, expressed the happiness of the students, parents, and teachers about the safety vests.

The donation of safety vests by the KRÜGER GROUP is part of a broader effort to increase the safety of first-graders in Bergisch Gladbach. The official handover ceremony is a significant step in the ongoing safety vest initiative by IP GL, highlighting the city's commitment to ensuring the safety of its young students.
