Russian Village Siyama Gets Natural Gas, Honors War Hero
Siyama, a village in Yakutia, Russia, has begun receiving natural gas, thanks to a social gasification program initiated by President Vladimir Putin and implemented by 'Sakhatransneftegaz'. The launch coincides with a significant historical date, honouring a local war hero, Fedor Popov.
The gasification of Siyama is part of a larger project that has connected over 1,300 houses to the gas supply across the republic this year. The village's gas supply, for heating and cooking, was launched by Alexei Kolodезnikov, the general director of JSC 'Sakhatransneftegaz'.
The project was made possible through a regional program for the gasification of populated points, the People's Program of the 'United Russia' party, and the instruction of Yakutia's Head, Aisen Nikolaev. The construction of an inter-village gas pipeline and intra-village networks was successfully completed by 'Sakhatransneftegaz' in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Geology of Yakutia. The total gasification potential of the village is over 200 houses, with connections already underway.
The gasification of Siyama marks a new stage in improving the villagers' quality of life, as noted by the republic's head, Aisen Nikolaev. The project honours Fedor Popov, a native of the village and the first Hero of the Soviet Union among the Sakha people, by coinciding with the anniversary of his heroic feat during World War II.
