Savoring Rosé at Milea Estate Vineyard Throughout the Entire Day
The picturesque Milea Estate Vineyard, nestled in the heart of the Hudson Valley, is set to host its first Rose Day celebration on June 8th. This event promises a day of wine tasting, food, games, and live music, all centred around the vineyard's signature blend – the Queen of the Meadow rose wine.
Originally from Europe, the Queen of the Meadow flower has established itself in North America, pre-colonization, and can be found growing wild in the vineyard's meadows. The pretty, pinky purplish flower is depicted on the label of the wine, which is a blend of four grape varieties. Merlot and Cabernet Franc make up 50% of the blend, while the other 50% comes from two rare varieties, Vidal Blanc and Chambourcin.
The Queen of the Meadow rose wine is known for its floral aromas reminiscent of wildflowers and is accompanied by notes of orange peel and strawberry, followed by a dry, crisp finish. It's no surprise that it's Milea Estate Vineyard's largest selling wine and the first wine they put into distribution.
Executive Chef David Kim will prepare a special menu for the Rose Day celebration, complementing the wine's unique flavours. The celebration will take place in the vineyard's clubhouse and Farmhouse, and will feature lawn games such as Jenga, giant Connect Four, and Cornhole. For those who prefer a more rhythmic atmosphere, a DJ will be present, and a shop will be available for wine purchases.
Milea Estate Vineyard takes pride in its commitment to sustainability, being a certified sustainable vineyard. The vineyard also preserves its wildflowers, including the Queen of the Meadow, especially around its wetlands.
The Rose Day celebration marks a significant milestone for Milea Estate Vineyard, as it introduces a new rose wine under the Queen of the Meadow label. The label, screen printed in the Hudson Valley, depicts wildflowers that grow on the vineyard's property.
The traditional Rose Festival was first held at Milea Estate Vineyard on August 16, 2025, as part of the Fizz Fest event celebrating summer with sparkling wine. Today, the Queen of the Meadow rose wine is available at restaurants and retailers throughout the Hudson Valley.
Join Milea Estate Vineyard for a day of celebration, wine, food, and fun at the Rose Day celebration on June 8th.
