Bremen, Germany is gearing up for an exciting event in September 2025, as the city centre will play host to the Maritime Week. This seven-day celebration will be filled with entertainment, culture, and knowledge, culminating in a grand festival weekend from the 19th to the 21st.

The festival weekend will offer a variety of activities, including an impressive light parade and dragon boat races. Visitors can also look forward to culinary delights, music, and numerous activities. Over 70,000 people are expected to attend, making it a lively and vibrant affair.

One of the highlights of the festival weekend will be the first-ever Maritime Flea Market. Taking place on September 21st, this market will be held between the Mayor-Smidt Bridge and the youth hostel, under the shade of plane trees with a view of the Weser.

The Maritime Flea Market will feature a mix of maritime treasures, accessories, equipment, gift items, and bargains related to boats or ships. Antiques, bric-a-brac, and second-hand items, supplemented by handmade art, food, and drink offerings, will be available for purchase.

In addition to the market stalls, an entertainment program will keep visitors entertained throughout the day. The market will run from 10:00 to 17:00.

The CityInitiative Bremen Advertising e.V. is organising the Maritime Week, and simultaneously, the Schlachte Marketing and Service Association e.V. is planning the first Maritime Flea Market. The Discovery Days, from September 13th to 18th, will offer various events about shipping, research, and maritime lifestyle. These days will include exhibitions, interactive programs, and interesting lectures.
