Second installment of East Frisian Art Exhibition underway - Second-Round Vote for East Friesland Biennale Ensues
Ready to immerse yourself in contemporary art? The Ostfriesland Art Festival is back for its second round, bringing unique, thought-provoking pieces to special locations across Ostfriesland and the Netherlands! 🇩🇪🇳🇱🌿
Kick off the festivities this Friday at 7:00 PM at the Emden Art Hall. According to one of the curators, Silke Oldenburg, "We are beyond thrilled for the second edition of the Ostfriesland Biennale!"
From the well-received first edition in 2022, the Biennale is making a comeback, albeit earlier than expected due to organizational reasons. From now until September 7, over 50 international artists' works will be displayed at various decentralized exhibitions around the Dollart, in the neighboring Netherlands, as well as in Oldenburg and Wilhelmshaven.
You can expect these captivating pieces to be showcased in breathtaking environments and at special locations. For example, the Schlosspark of the Evenburg in Leer, the Kunstverein Aurich, the Ludgerikirche and the Kunstverein in Norden, the Schlosspark Lütetsburg (both in the district of Aurich), the Menkemaborg in Uithuizen north of Groningen, and the Landesmuseum für Kunst und Kultur in Oldenburg are among the venues participating in the Biennale. The art halls in Wilhelmshaven and Emden will also be showcasing exceptional artworks! 😎
Wondering what to expect at some of these locations? The Emden Art Hall is featuring an exhibition called "Close to the Sky. Clouds in Art". In the Schlosspark of the Evenburg, you'll find works by draftsman Stefan Marx and artist Rolf Bier, among others. The Kunstverein Norden showcases the exhibition "Tides of Latitude", enabling students from the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart and the Minerva Art Academy Groningen to share their masterpieces with the world. 🎨
